Abstract :
Glucose detection is of great interests with many applications ranging from clinical diagnosis to environment monitoring. One dimensional nanostructure such as ZnO nanostructures and carbon nanotubes provide promising matrix for the fabrication of glucose sensor due to their unique advantages including the high specific surface area, non-toxicity, chemical stability, electrochemical activity and high electron communication features. In this work, we will first introduce our study on amperometric glucose biosensors which were constructed using the ZnO nanostructures as supporting materials for enzyme (GOX) loading. A high sensitivity (15.33 μA/cm 2.mM) and high affinity of GOX to glucose as well as the low detection limit (0.02 mM) of the glucose sensor were achieved.
