Abstract
This paper newly proposes SCM coherent optical transmission system using a radio-to-optic direct conversion scheme, where the SCM RF signal can be converted into an optical frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals with the same frequency interval as SCM radio signal with the same signaling and multiplexing format. The theoretical received CNR analysis shows and as a result, it is clarified that the received CNR of the proposed system is better than that of the conventional coherent and IM/DD system.
