Abstract
We investigate theoretically several patch antenna structures for integration in OEICs incorporating photonic devices and MM-wave amplifiers. We show that to obtain optimum antenna performance, separate dielectric layers must be used to isolate the antenna from the feeding structure which incorporates the OEIC.
