  • Abstract
    A real time algorithm embedded in single chip computer (MCU) is presented to count steps precisely. According to the features of the step wave, Chain Code is adopted to encode the signal. Then the Freeman Chain Code is analyzed and modified for signal processing. Steps are detected through recognition of wave group after encoding. The experimental result shows that this algorithm can significantly improve the pedometer´s accuracy.
