Abstract :
This study presents an optimization model using constraint programming (CP) for project selection and scheduling problems with time-dependent resource constraints. The proposed model aims to maximize total profit from selected projects, while scheduling the projects with various resource constraints with specified time intervals, including consumed and renewable resources. The optimization model integrates the project selection mechanism, relationship among projects, budget limit, and assignment of renewable resources. Due to procurement strategies and various annual budget concerns, this research considers various constraints for scheduling and resource allocation problems, such as resource constraint and budget limit. The current study presents a scenario as the basis for selecting fifteen candidate projects with different constraints to illustrate model capability. The analysis result demonstrates that the proposed model allows planners to determine an optimal portfolio of project selection with resource constraints according to various time intervals.
