Abstract :
Hakka houses in Gan,Min and Yue provinces and Diaolous in Kaiping both were parts of watchtower local houses of China.The distinctions of historical background and culture between them led to the two types of watchtower local houses were different in the following several sections: architecture form,structure,materials and decoration. Based on these aspects,the comparative study about the differences of the two defensive buildings was performed in the article.
