Abstract :
A train of transform-limited optical pulses with duration of 2.3 ps is generated from monolithically fabricated mode-locked semiconductor lasers at the high repetition rate of 33 GHz. Higher repetition rates over 1 THz are observed by harmonic passive mode-locking. Furthermore, the timing jitter of the pulse trains is reduced with the injection of electrical or optical signal to mode-locked lasers.
