Abstract :
A non-conventional approach is presented for the adaptivity of antennas dedicated to indoor wireless communications. It is based on the adaptive choice of reactances connected to peripheral monopoles in a circular array, allowing efficient control of the radiation pattern in both elevation and azimuth. The antenna capability to reject spurious signals has been tested by electromagnetic computations and measurements, according to various adaptivity algorithms. The results are surprisingly good, even for a very small number (4) of adjusted reactances.
