Abstract :
The development of a control system for controlling the temperature of a small-volume physicochemical apparatus is presented. A thermoelectric cooler is used as the actuator and temperature sensing is performed by thermocouples. The changing of setpoints at various stages of the experiment is automatically performed by the computer, using the information from a particular process parameter. The procedure offers a significant improvement over presently available standard procedures, which offer little, if any, dynamic control over various physicochemical processes
