Author_Institution :

Abstract :
The infrastructure for microelectronics research in Canadian universities is in the process of changing to accommodate the challenge of System-On-Chip design. It is evolving in terms of design flows, CAD tools and virtual components. This is motivated by research and industry opportunities. It is expected that the nature of the SOC-ready infrastructure will be one that enables and encourages the exchange of IP. It will provide capability for multi-site design collaboration and position the microelectronics research infrastructure for further stages of technology integration.
