Abstract :
A general technique for calculating electromechanical coupling in linear and nonlinear electroactive materials at large applied electric fields and frequencies below resonance has been developed. Coupling for PMN relaxor ferroelectrics has been determined for both large ac drive fields (+/- 1.0 kV/mm) and for the dc-biased case (0.7 kV/mm +/- 0.3 kV/mm). Nominal values of coupling up to 0.53 were observed
