Abstract :
The study on seismic damage model becomes more and more urgent after many building suffered severe damage in 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. It provides a review of available damage assessment criteria and illustrates the application of several approaches to seismic evaluation of RC structures. Determine elastic deformation energy release value due to damage was presented and proved by analyzing experimental data. On the basis of degrading trillinear model, the functions and related indexes of energy release value correspond to hysteretic damage model were established to estimate the system´s damage and deformability. Important research efforts have been carried out to develop an accurate damage index to qualify the response of structure. It aims at to review and discuss systematically accomplishments of seismic damage assessment of building structures in single-parameter damage model, double parameter damage model, fatigue based damage model, global damage model and damage model based on energy.
