  • Abstract
    A new power quality monitoring and management system based on a new embedded computer technique which contains digital signal processing (DSP) and advanced RISC machine micro-programmed control unit (ARM MCU, shortened as ARM hereinafter) is introduced in this thesis. Its realization of hardware system and software system are analyzed, and its main functions and characteristics are expatiated on. The embedded high-speed floating-point DSP chip and the embedded ARM MCU are adopted as the cores of its hardware of the system. The communication mode between the DSP and ARM systems is based on host port interface (HPI). The system uses C and C++ languages to develop its software, the data of the system are saved in its hard disk. The system can realize real-time, comprehensive and high-precision monitoring and management for all power quality parameters.
