Abstract
In this paper, a novel neuro-adaptive controller for the stator current of induction motors is presented. Based on an input voltage-output current model, an adaptive stator current controller is proposed. The dynamic stability of the proposed adaptive controller is proved based on the Lyapunov stability criteria. The proposed adaptation technique is modified and coupled to a backpropagation neural network to implement a direct-adaptive neurocontroller. Computer simulation results for a three-phase induction motor, utilizing the proposed adaptive and neuro-adaptive controllers, are also presented
