Abstract :
Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage (ATES) Systems are used to store thermal energy seasonally, mainly for the provision of room heat and cold in buildings. According to the underground temperature-hydrologic flow coupled processes (TH) and Canada BORDEN storage energy test data, Building a TOUGH numerical model verifies the coupled processes of the mechanism in ATES. Results of the simulations appear to match the observed data well within 1°C. Besides, a practical commercial building in Shenyang on Groundwater Source Heat Pump (GWHSP) is simulated. Some problems, such as the variation and heat through of aquifer´s temperature field in 3 years and multi-wells interference and so on are analyzed and predicted. By combination of investigation data and the application of numerical models leads to a performance -enhancing design.
