Abstract :
This paper investigates the adaptive control of a fuzzy logic based speed controller for a vector-controlled permanent-magnet (PM) synchronous motor drive. A model-reference adaptive scheme is proposed in which the adaptation mechanism is executed by fuzzy logic based on the error and changes of error measured between the motor speed and the output of a reference model. The control performance of the adaptive fuzzy controller is evaluated by simulation for various operating conditions using the actual parameters of a prototype 1 kW PM synchronous servo drive. The design and implementation of the proposed adaptive fuzzy controller are considered and discussed
