Abstract :
In this paper, phase correlation algorithm based on FFT is applied to the vehicle license plate character identification. It is a widely used method of image registration, which can not only increase the speed of the license plate character recognition and the generalization ability of system, but also accurately identify some similar characters or obscured characters. The paper provides the analysis and simulation for the algorithm using Matlab, and the superiority of the algorithms is testified. Furthermore,the simulation experimental results show that the algorithm has the advantages of good real-time and high performance in the recognition of license plate characters.
