Abstract
Along with more and more earthworks were implemented in china, the conventional compactness specifications, water content and density specifications, have could not adapt to the situation. So the instant vibration method was put forward. Then a great amount of laboratory tests were performed, and the corresponding samples´ testing signal, water content and density were acquired. By analysis of test data, the feature parameters reflecting the characteristics of signal were extracted in time and frequency domain. The FFT-FS spectrum zooming method used for instant signal was also put forward. It was shown that this method for measuring the soil compactness is feasible by the analysis of the feature parameters.
