Abstract
This paper presents the loss model and characteristic comparison of a three-level converter and a full-bridge converter through the conduction loss analysis of power devices. It shows the main reason of efficiency diminution, comparing of a full-bridge converter with a three-level converter. Also, the loss analysis of each component and the various losses in the circuit are proposed in this paper. The result of the analysis is verified with 2.5 kW prototype.
