Abstract :
A scheme of solar assisted air source heat pump (SAASHP) system was presented according to discussion of two kinds of conventional solar assisted heat pump. Then a prototype machine of the SAASHP system was designed and manufactured for a suburban residence in Tianjin. A series of experimental investigations were conducted to test operational performance of the prototype machine, it indicated that the prototype machine could meet both heat load and cooling load of the suburban residence. The coefficient of performance (COP) of the prototype machine was also calculated under different test condition, it was concluded that COP was more than 3.5 when the temperature of water heated by solar collector was below 40°C under cooling condition or above 7°C under heating condition. This work promotes solar heat pump application in suburban residence.
