Abstract :
Semantic Web services have been employed in a wide range of applications and have become a key technology in developing business operations on the Web. However, heterogeneity is a major problem of the current semantic Web service technologies. In particular, semantic Web services described by different description languages cannot work together. For example, a Web service described by OWL-S cannot interact with a Web service described by WSMO in the Web environment, even though both the services are compatible in reality. Therefore, in order to leverage on the use of semantic Web services, the heterogeneity problem must be overcome. This paper introduces a solution to overcome this problem. In particular, the paper introduces an algorithm to convert WSMO to OWL-S. As WSML and OWL are underlying ontology languages for WSMO and OWL-S, respectively, the paper focuses on a mapping from WSML and OWL.
