Abstract :
The purpose of this article is to introduce some approaches to develop students´ autonomous ability. Teachers should design and organize various activities to prepare students for more independence and responsibility. The author firstly presents some problems in traditional teaching students with non-English majors. Then, the paper presents the practical ways of teaching based on the learner-centered approach. It´s expected that the teacher, an effective instructor and good facilitator, can help students read actively and grow into creative readers.
