Study of the contemporary regional architecture on the basis of the traditional symbol

Chinese traditional architectural symbols and the comparison between the modern creating techniques and the characteristics of modern building material were analysed in this article. The basic model of modern architectural creation by using Chinese traditional architectural symbols was summarized. Combined with native and foreign theoretical research results and analyses on large amount of outstanding architectural designs, five principles were creatived through the harmonious symbiosis view between modern architecture and Chinese traditional architecture. Meanwhile, take the design of office area of Xi´an city administrative center as example, it was discussed how to embodying Chinese traditional cultural and regional culture connotation in a deep level in the design methods of architectural components.
