Abstract :
We have extracted from WordNet, 1970 job titles to compare with French, Quebec French and Korean equivalents. This is to study a multilingual electronic database model: English-French-Canadian French-Korean. Each job name provides different inner structures such as hypernymic, hyponymic, holonymic, meronymic relations, which are linked to others by multiple ways. This differential structure of WordNet facilitates an automatic research and can specify the meaning of ambiguous words in the text among others. However, we have discovered some problems with the use of WordNet such as the certain weakness of its structure and terminology problems of definition. There is also difficulty in coordinating the different concepts of the above-mentioned languages in order to find an exact matching. Nevertheless, the future elaboration of multilingual database of job titles based on WordNet will serve as an useful instrument for job search, employment, etcetera in various economic matters.
