After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.

With the development of globalization and information technology, symbolic consumption of cities is rising in post-industrial society and cultural economy has become the driving force of urban form. So traditional business space is being changed to modern consumer space and creative space in the metropolis. The paper analyzes the reference values of symbolic economy and consumer space in post-industrial society to urban development in China.
