Abstract
A hybrid integrated three stage HEMT amplifier with a gain of 25 dB and a bandwidth of 5.4 GHz has been designed and constructed. When reconfigurated as an optical receiver by using a linear 1/spl times/8 array of GaAs metal-semiconductor-metal photodetectors as the input, 41 dB/spl Omega/ of transimpedance is achieved up to frequencies higher than 5 GHz.<>
