Abstract
The results of an experimental study of the Seebeck coefficient, electrical and thermal conductivity of pure and doped β-FeSi2 polycrystals in the temperature range 4.2-1000 K are presented in this paper. The contributions of possible mechanisms of current carrier transport to the Seebeck coefficient are discussed. The optical phonon drag effect contribution to the Seebeck coefficient is calculated for a band conduction mechanism. The reasons for the gigantic Seebeck coefficient at low temperature are discussed
