Abstract
The authors discuss their experiences in applying total quality management (TQM) concepts in their company, a 1500-person engineering and architectural firm with 32 offices throughout the US. The steps in the TQM implementation plan are summarized. The results have varied. There have been quantitative and qualitative successes. Results have not been as successful in terms of numbers or attitudes, but have provided information and learning that occurred only because of the TQM effort
