Abstract :
The establishment of the characteristics of voltage supplied by the distribution networks is the result of the asymptotic evolution of the concepts of emission, immunity and electromagnetic compatibility for satisfying the expectations of the users and the electrical energy suppliers. The common point of reference is to be found in the standard EN 50160 which indicates the values expected of the characteristics at any point in the electrical network under normal operating conditions without establishing any geographical restrictions. Experiences in the use of a standard format for measuring voltage dips and short interruptions, the measurement of variations in voltage and the definition of a format for measuring harmonics, pulses and flicker are given in the report. The main advantage of this work system is the independence between the software design for evaluation and the use of one or various equipment for recording the characteristics according to EN 50160. Lastly, the use of homogeneous criteria results rebounds in clarity between the user and the distributor which makes a comparison and accumulation of results, obtained in various companies, periods of time and countries, possible and also provides a tool for verifying the improvements produced in different periods through investments made in the network.
