Abstract :
A simple technique to integrate databases and model bases developed by expert analysts is proposed. Special attention is given to the fact that there are frequent improvements in computer applications, so that the integrating system should be flexible enough to adapt to changes. Because users differ in experience and do not apply the same style of decision making, it should be possible to tailor the system to suit individual users. Two package programs, LINDO for linear programming and DYNAMO for dynamic simulation, were used to create and develop models. DBASEIII+ was used as the database manipulator and the executor of the algorithms developed to operate the whole system. Emphasis was placed on creating a flexible system, so that when package programs were revised, taking full advantage of new developments would be possible
