  • Abstract
The role of the planning process in the development of cross-functional, trans-cultural, technical teams both in the US and abroad is discussed. It is pointed out that effective project implementation, both in the US and abroad, requires the integration of plans, schedules, control mechanisms, and people. One strategy for building more committed, focused, and integrated teams is through a highly interactive and integrative `total planning process´
