Abstract :
An attempt is made to reconcile divergent views of management of technology (MOT) by emphasizing the role of product design as a most important attribute/component of the MOT strategy and by relating MOT to other identifiable parallel broad-management parameters/philosophies, such as total quality management, total productivity, technology transfer, and the more encompassing concept of life-cycle enterprise management. The current status of cooperative efforts is examined, and product design is considered as a foundation for motivating cooperation and reducing the risks of decisions
