Abstract :
The types of networks used in R&D work are classified. An attempt is also made to support further evolution of the resource box theory in which structures are used among others for providing competence transfer networks. Three main classes of networks used in R&D work are distinguished: (1) networks used to show structures of relationships between things and objects; (2) networks coordinating activities, events, and resources assuring management control; and (3) networks of communication links connecting system parts and used for competence transfer within the system
