Abstract
The third-order common-base transistor circuit is a kind of chaotic signal generator, which can be easily realized in any laboratory. The principal purpose of this paper is studying the dynamics and great variety of one-parameter bifurcation phenomena in it. Computer simulation and laboratory experiment are used to analyze its characteristics. Several strange attractors, the intermittent attractor, periodic windows, cascades of period doubling, period plus two and period minus one phenomena are observed by adjusting the value of an inductor. The computer simulation results agree with the experiment results quite nicely.
