Abstract :
The current schedule for Indian Railways trains has an extensive and complex data. It requires a semi-structured process for its design, development and modification. Scheduling a new train to such a system should maintain stability, robustness and consistency of existing trains along with the best utilization of resources. This process involves a combination of human judgment and standard solution procedures.
