Abstract :
Rainfall is usually the major factor causing the slope failure of unsaturated soils which is due to permeation of rainwater causing the increase of degree of saturation of soils and decrease of shear strength. This paper considers increase of the degree of saturation of soils due to rainfall. Plaxis finite element analysis software is used to analysis the stability of unsaturated soil slopes of different degrees of saturation based on modified cam-clay model. The research shows slope horizontal displacement increases with the increase of degree of saturation of soils and the tendency towards sliding become tendency. The factor of safety significantly decreases. The research results prove it is feasible to use modified cam-clay to analysis stability of unsaturated soil slope which provide a new research idea to study analysis stability of unsaturated soil slope.
