Abstract
A time-domain approach based on ground penetrating radar principle is introduced to indirectly measure the dielectric permittivity, conductivity and thickness of walls of a building, which are important data for indoor radio system planning and modelling. These parameters are obtained by interpreting the measure reflected signal whereas pulse signals are employed as the transmitted signal. Theoretical analysis indicates that the pulse duration determines the range resolution of the measurement and measurement proves that the approach is practical
