Abstract :
Vision problems for which the image background can be controlled by the appropriate choice of illumination and background color are considered. A reusable neural-network-based implementation of an image background detection system is presented. It facilitates object location when the color characteristics of the background can be chosen to be different from the color characteristics of the objects
