Abstract :
This paper describes a 13-bit high-resolution incremental delta-sigma A/D converter suitable for multi ion-selective sensor array system, also known as electronic tongue system. The incremental delta sigma structure is very suitable for sensor measurement application, since it achieves high accuracy using only simple circuitry. The chip is designed using TSMC 0.35um 3.3V technology having an input range of 1.15V to 2.15V. The chip achieved an excellent linearity performance of -0.17mLSB DNL and range of -0.37LSB to 0.15 LSB INL. The total chip area occupies only 0.09mm2 and a power dissipation of 791uW for the analog front-end.
