Abstract :
Ultrashort pulse amplification is investigated theoretically and experimentally for the most important fiber amplifiers working near 1.3 μm (Nd3+- and Pr3+-doped fibers). A short overview on recent results is given. In particular, the latest experimental results on ultrashort pulse amplification (300 fs) in a Pr 3+-doped fluoride fiber amplifier PDFA is presented
