Abstract :
Segmented LD proposed 30 years ago until now often becomes the subject of R and D being possessed of wider capabilities than the traditional homogeneously pumped LD. Depending on electrical connections, pumping and modulating currents its output characteristics may be altered qualitatively. In microelectronics a lot of microcircuits (ICs) can perform different functions depending on their connections. Such approach is not usual yet for optoelectronics components but it is reasonable to suppose that segmented LD may become the basis of multifunctional light-emitters. Stationary characteristics of three-sections (GaAl)As SC DH LD with 4 μm-wide ridge waveguide were studied previously. The present work is concentrated on the dynamical behaviour of this device
