Abstract :
A general theoretical framework is proposed for the design and control of industrial systems and devices based upon theoretical principles which are crystallizing at the present time as a result of joint multidisciplinary efforts in robotics, intelligent control, large systems for information distribution and decision support. This framework, which is called here the multiscale or multiresolutional approach, reflects the nature of cognitive processes in the brain and intelligent machines
