Abstract :
The planar rectangular split ring resonator is applied to design the printed dipole antenna with a requirement of dual frequency in this paper. A dual-frequency antenna example is given, which works at 1.7 GHz and 4.0 GHz. Any pair of working frequencies can be obtained by the presented technique. The antenna is simulated and fabricated. Its radiation characteristics including impedance bandwidth, radiation patterns, and gain are simulated, measured, and compared. The presented antenna has attractively good performances that the radiation patterns at dual frequencies are both dipolar.
