Abstract :
A theoretical model for describing the dielectric constant of moist bulk materials such as tobacco, rape seed and similar materials and a robust algorithm based on this model for determining the moisture content of these materials is presented. In contrast to established models, this method takes into account the different binding energies of water molecules in the capillaries of the material. The algorithm is based on maximum likelihood estimation.<>
