Abstract :
The workflow process modeling is the foundation of workflow management system. With the wide development of workflow technology, more and more users need to evaluate the correctness of workflow model. By analyzing the respective characteristics of UML state chart and Petri network system, this paper proposed a workflow modeling method characterized by exterior modeling the workflow by using UML state diagram while interior expressing the workflow as Petri net model by adopting the corresponding mapping rules, and meanwhile illustrated such type of workflow modeling method by giving consideration to the actual workflow. The modeling method proposed by us solves the problem concerning verifying the effectiveness of workflow model structure, and thereby the reliability of the workflow model has been improved.
