Abstract
The array-fed imaging reflector antenna can form a larger aperture equivalent phased array whose secondary element pattern shaped like a gate with flat-top characteristic, which performs good grating lobe degradability. Based on this configuration, a low cost monopulse limited scan antenna with a regular triangular latticed primary array is presented here. The sum pattern is synthesized by Taylor circular aperture, while the double-difference beam consists of four lobes formed by an aperture illumination which has anti-symmetrical phase property in both elevation and azimuth dimensions. Finally, the simulation results are presented to verify the feasibility of the scheme.
