Abstract :
Humans are able to communicate with each other by using not only verbal media but also the five senses. A display device called intuition-driven monitor has been developed by combining an LCD display, flexible arm, angle sensors and a CCD camera. The display is manipulated by a user with his direct operations by hands and gaze. The joint angles are measured by angle sensors, and the three dimensional position and posture of the display are calculated in real time by the computation of the system geometry. A user is able to explore virtual space and manipulate virtual environment with the sense of haptics.
