Abstract :
Two different laser systems are reviewed. The first is a high-repetition-rate, single-frequency Tm:YAG laser that is used specifically for optical pumping of a HBr mid-infrared gas laser. The second is a compact, tunable Er:YAG laser that generates a 3-μm beam that is highly transmissive through the atmosphere
