Abstract
This paper describes the transient analysis at the transformer terminal occurring during system operation or fault conditions. The computation of electromagnetic transients was carried out for nonsimultaneous switching operations and faults. Some results in the form of maximum value of the voltages and currents are shown in the paper. It has been shown that during faults the harmonic and nonharmonic components are produced and this can lead to incorrect operation of the protection relay
