Abstract :
A small ultra-wideband planar monopole antenna is introduced in the paper. The design and optimization is carried out based on the FDTD numerical computational method, make sure that it can achieve excellent wideband characteristic, and the simulated result shows that the reflection coefficient is below -10 dB. The effect on the antenna´s performance from some structure parameters is explained, and an antenna is fabricated with the best simulated result, after measuring, it can be found out that the bandwidth of the fabricated antenna is basically the same with the simulated one.
